Yale Center for Teaching and Learning

Inclusive and Equitable Teaching

The Poorvu Center invites you to join a yearlong faculty seminar on Inclusive and Equitable Teaching, which will bring together faculty across disciplines who are interested in beginning to explore issues around diversity, equity, and inclusion.  The group will meet monthly for an hour and a half during the 2020-2021 academic year.  Each of the eight meetings (below) will be focused on a topic and accompanied by readings to frame and inform our discussion.

Participants who complete the program in full will have access to $800 for their use to make their own teaching more inclusive and equitable, to promote inclusive and equitable practices in their department or academic community, and/or to continue learning about inclusive and equitable practices (e.g., attending a conference). Please note that you must hold a current Yale faculty appointment to gain access to the funds, which will be available for up to two years after program completion.

Yale instructors, including tenure-track, tenured, and instructional faculty, who want to participate should complete the below form by September 18. We will limit the number of faculty participants in order to create a community feel. If we cannot accommodate your participation this year, we will prioritize your participation next year. If you have any questions about the Inclusive and Equitable Teaching Seminar, please email Julie McGurk.
