Pedagogical Partner

Description 

The Pedagogical Partner is paired with a Yale faculty member to act as a consultant for the faculty member’s course for the entire semester. Pedagogical partners observe their faculty partner’s class on a weekly basis and take observational notes, meet with the faculty partner regularly to discuss how pedagogical goals are being achieved in the classroom, and meet regularly with a Poorvu Center staff member to offer feedback on the partnership and the program overall.

Requirements 

The Partner should be a current Yale University student and have an interest in pedagogy and student learning experiences at Yale.

Responsibilities 

i.      Form a partnership with Yale faculty member (as assigned by Poorvu Center)

ii.      Act as a consultant for the faculty member’s course for the entire semester

iii.      Observe faculty partner’s class on a weekly basis and take observational notes

iv.      Meet with the faculty partner regularly to discuss how pedagogical goals are being achieved in the classroom

v.      Meet regularly with a Poorvu Center support member to offer feedback on the partnership and the program overall
