Academic Job Search Series: Talking about Teaching on the Market

Event Description

In the US academic job market, it is increasingly important to demonstrate excellence in teaching as well as research. How can you help a committee envision you as an instructor or professor, especially when you have limited teaching experience? This panel discussion, featuring early career academics, will help you understand the different ways you’ll be asked to describe your teaching in job interviews and how you can prepare for them. We’ll also explore the challenges that Yale PhDs encounter in discussing their teaching, and how to approach your interview as an opportunity to showcase your preparation, experience, and qualifications.
