Event Description

“Addressing Trauma in the Classroom with Object Based Learning,” a co-sponsored by the Poorvu Center for Teaching & Learning and the Yale University Art Gallery, considers how objects might be used as an entry point into difficult discussions in the classroom. The event engages with the new exhibition at the gallery, “Reckoning with ‘The Incident’: John Wilson’s Studies for a Lynching Mural” and asks educators to consider how they would use the exhibition in their own courses as part of creating a learning environment that is both challenging and accessible to everyone. Light refreshments and further conversation will be provided after the conclusion of discussion in the gallery.
