ATW: Difficult Conversations in the Classroom (Race, Ethnicity, and Culture)

Event Description

Due to ongoing restrictions at the university, this workshop will be held over Zoom (link to follow).

Have you wondered how race, ethnicity and culture influence the learning process in the classroom? In this workshop, we will discuss social and academic norms that make race talk challenging as well as their implications. Facilitating difficult conversations requires recognition of what makes such conversations difficult. Come join us to learn from your peers and share questions and concerns you have about issues of race, ethnicity and culture in the classroom. This workshop fills the diversity and inclusion requirement for the CCTP. For more information, please contact christopher.forney@yale.edu and young.yi@yale.edu. This ATW fills the inclusivity requirement toward the CCTP.
