ATW: Difficult Conversations in the Classroom (Religion and Culture)

Event Description

How and when do we discuss religion and spiritual belief in the classroom? How do the spiritual and religious beliefs of students and instructors impact their experience of those discussions? This ATW focuses on the explicit and implicit role religion plays in the classroom, for individual students and for the classroom environment. Participants will be invited to consider the particularities of how their discipline approaches religion, and how to develop structure and permission for students to engage in productive and often personal conversations about belief. For questions, please contact gina.hurley@yale.edu or zachary.smith@yale.edu.

This workshop meets the CCTP requirement for a topic engaging diversity/inclusion.
