Event Description

In this workshop, we will talk through issues related to race, ethnicity, culture, and power dynamics in the classroom while addressing the social and academic norms that can make discussing these topics challenging for instructors. Facilitating difficult conversations requires recognition of what makes such conversations difficult. Join us to reflect on your role in facilitating these conversations, learn from your peers, and share questions and concerns you have about how these issues affect our pedagogical approaches and what practices we can incorporate into our teaching. This workshop fulfills the diversity and inclusion requirement for the CCTP. For more information, please contact delfina.gonzalez@yale.edu and monique.ulysses@yale.edu. This ATW counts toward the Poorvu Center’s Certificate of College Teaching Preparation (CCTP) requirement for a “topic engaging inclusivity or diversity.”
