Event Description

Why do we grade? What kind of feedback would really help your students to improve? How can you grade efficiently while being fair and consistent? In this interdisciplinary workshop, we’ll discuss different kinds of assessment and grading schemes. We’ll also work through sample rubrics and discuss alternative grading techniques, such as contract and opt-in grading. Finally, we’ll consider current controversies regarding grading, and problems you might encounter while grading and what to do about them.
