ATW: Teaching and Mentorship in the Lab Environment

Event Description

Do you want to be a more effective teacher and mentor, particularly in a hands-on laboratory teaching/research environment? Would you like to learn new strategies and skills that you can use as a mentor to help your students cultivate interest, experience, and enthusiasm for science? If so, join us for our workshop on teaching and mentoring in the lab. We will discuss the qualities of an exceptional mentor, learn teaching strategies for different scenarios in the lab, and learn ways to communicate more effectively with mentees. This Advanced Teaching Workshop counts toward the CTL’s Certificate of College Preparation. For more information, feel free to reach out to Sheridan Green (sheridan.green@yale.edu) or Amanda Vines (amanda.vines@yale.edu).
