Event Description

Have you ever considered turning your Ph.D. thesis into a book manuscript? Come join us for a virtual panel discussion and Q&A with three editors from renowned university presses to demystify the process! Come hear Susan Ferber (Executive Editor at Oxford University Press, specializing in history), Jim Lance (Senior Editor at Cornell University Press, specializing in anthropology and social science) and Bill Frucht (Executive Editor at Yale University Press, specializing in political science and law). They will cover topics including how to contact publishers, how to write a convincing book proposal, what editors look for, and what to expect throughout the process. You will also have an opportunity to sign up for virtual one-on-one meetings with the editors following the panel. Intended Audience: upper-level graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in the Social Sciences and Humanities.
