Event Description

Looking for new ways to engage students in your discussion section? Thinking about how to integrate writing instruction alongside course content? This four-part workshop series will introduce you to core pedagogical principles such as backward design and universal design for learning and teach you how to apply them in the humanities classroom. We will think about how to lead effective discussions, how to assess students fairly and equitably, and how to develop an anti-racist approach to teaching. We will also devote some time to workshopping and trouble-shooting participants’ own experiences in the classroom. For more information, please feel free to contact Hugo Havranek (hugo.havranek@yal.edu) or Ben Pokross (benjamin.pokross@yale.edu).
