Event Description

Planning to apply for a fellowship or grant in the humanities or social sciences? Come to this two-part series and learn some guidelines and tips to help you start or improve your application! In the workshop on personal statements, we discuss how to build a sincere and compelling narrative around your personal and professional experiences to help you stand out as an exceptional candidate. In the second workshop on research statements, we will discuss the differences between research statements and proposals and how to tell the story of your research and make the case for its importance to a general audience. In both workshops, we evaluate sample prompts and statements so that you can walk away with a clearer idea of how to write effectively in these critical genres of academic writing. Thurs, Sept. 17 and 24
