Event Description

In this workshop, you will learn the basic structure of a science dissertation prospectus and hear from a panel of seasoned graduate students about their own prospectus-writing experiences. We will emphasize the steps of the drafting process, the genre conventions of the prospectus, and how to gather a committee. During the Q&A portion of the event, participants will be encouraged to ask the panelists any remaining questions they might have.  These students have been through the prospectus process and will be able to speak to their experiences writing this unique document as well as the specifics of their departmental requirements.

New Panel Feature! The panel will conclude with an opportunity to speak with the panelists in small breakout rooms - this is a great opportunity to ask specific questions that may not have been covered in the main session and Q&A!Our panelists, all senior graduate students, include:
- Kevin Parducho (Cell Biology)
- Katie Leiby (Biomedical Engineering)
- Sydney Muchnik (Genetics), and
- Adam Viera (School of Public Health)

Intended Audience: Graduate students in natural and physical sciences
