Teaching and Learning Discussion

Event Description

How can a few basic technology tools–a course blog, a thoughtfully composed Canvas site, a multimedia assignment–enliven classroom dialogue and prompt deeper learning outcomes? Join Alison Coleman, lecturer in English, for a discussion of simple strategies that anyone can incorporate into their course design. This lunch session will include brief presentations on Coleman’s experiences using Coursepress, Canvas, and the Poorvu Center’s video studio, followed by time for questions, answers, and sharing of similar success stories across the disciplines. All of the tools outlined in this presentation are available, free of charge, to all Yale faculty members. You will come away with the ideas and ability to put one or more of them to use right away in your spring term courses.

Host: Alison Coleman, Senior Communications Officer & Lecturer in English
