Cognition of Learning (Online) (4 Sessions - 9/22, 10/6, 20, & 11/3)
Unlock the science behind effective learning with a community of cross-disciplinary scholars. During this four-week learning community, we will read both qualitiative pedagogical literature as well as scientific literature, allowing participants to understand the cognition of learning and apply those concepts to their teaching. We will discuss topics such as memory, problem-solving, metacognition, and the use of music and arts as learning tools. Each session will contain a brief introduction to the week’s topic to familiarize participants with key concepts and vocabulary from the week’s readings. Our goal is to cater to educators from all disciplines—no prior scientific knowledge is required.
