The Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning is recruiting for an Assistant Director, Learner Services. You will be responsible for the Yale’s non-learner information system, which is built on Salesforce. In this pivotal new role you will improve the experience for learners enrolling in global non-degree programs and courses from Yale and support program leaders in the vision to expand access to the University. The Assistant Director will join the Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning and will be required to build and maintain relationships across the University to succeed.

In this role, you will work closely with Professional school colleagues and vendors to ensure the platform meets a wide variety of goals and needs. Collaborate frequently with many members of the Yale University community, including IT, professional schools, Poorvu staff, and others to ensure the platform is fully integrated into the program’s workflows and processes. Grow into a full relationship manager and technical program manager for this system. Create user guides, training materials, and best practices for the University community; run a community of practice and monthly calls with key users. Respond to user issues and resolve technical problems. Develop and implement platform enhancements and customization. Ensure appropriate collaboration and escalation to ITS partners. Maintain documentation about the platform. Compile, prioritize, and report feature requests for product direction and implementation. Manage platform integrations and innovate with new opportunities utilizing the platform functions and data. Create all reporting metrics and presentations for senior leadership.
The successful candidate will bring passion and excitement for supporting a rapidly growing online enrollment and information platform at Yale with a goal-oriented, collaborative, and problem-solving mindset. The business processes managed on this platform, and for which will require collaboration with those around campus and at Poorvu, include recruitment, marketing, communications, applications, admissions, enrollment, learning, completion, and credentials. Requirements
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and three years of related demonstrated work experience or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience.
Required Skills and abilities
- Demonstrated ability supporting a user community on an enrollment or application platform, event management system, customer relationship management system, or similar platform, and troubleshooting challenges and problems encountered with using such systems.
- Strong technical and support documentation writing skills. Ability to explain technical applications in clear terms. Familiarity with web publishing and content management platforms, including knowledge of basic HTML for formatting and embedding content.
- Ability to perform routine system maintenance and administration, and understand and manage vendor software upgrades, improvements, and new packages.
- Comfortable working closely with a user community through email, phone, zoom, or in person based on individual need and preference. Ability to research, vet, test, support and document related technologies workflows or solutions.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to provide insights into professional school partners, including enrollment trends, demographics, and other learner data necessary for our partners.
