Teaching Excellence Celebrated in Rosenkranz Showcase

The Rosenkranz Showcase, hosted April 30, 2024 at the Poorvu Center, highlighted excellence and innovation in teaching from faculty award winners. From chemistry to calculus to medicine, strategies enhancing student engagement were at the forefront. These insights bridge the gap between in-person and online education, offering invaluable lessons for educators.

Awardees from ’23 and ’24 attended to learn about how these prior awardees took advantage of the opportunity to advance student learning. The ’20 and ’22 faculty awardees presented on their projects, including:

  • Kyle Dugdale, Senior Critic, Architecture
  • Dmitry Kozhevnikov, Assistant Professor, School of Medicine & Director, Smilow Ambulatory Palliative Care at Yale
  • Katie Gielissen, Assistant Professor (Adjunct), Yale Internal Medicine, & Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics, Emory School of Medicine
  • Joshua Onyango, former resident, Yale Internal Medicine, & current Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center

The Rosenkranz Awards for Pedagogical Advancement provides up to $10,000 to full-time Yale ladder and instructional faculty with a primary instructional appointment, to implement significant teaching interventions or curricular innovations that are designed to improve learning by encouraging student engagement.
