Event Description

How can you keep your students engaged and active during a lecture? In this ATW, we will workshop strategies for planning well-structured and engaging lectures, developing your teaching persona, and managing time in the classroom. We welcome teaching fellows and instructors at all levels of experience, as a broad range of backgrounds will help to facilitate a rich conversation. For more information, please contact Mallory Ellingson (mallory.ellingson@yale.edu) and Emily Theus (emily.theus@yale.edu).

Please note: Advanced Teaching Workshops (ATWs) count toward the requirements for the Certificate of College Teaching Preparation (CCTP). ATWs are designed as deeper dives into a given topic, and are especially appropriate for participants with prior experience. If you are new to the subject matter, you may be more comfortable starting with an ITW, but this is not required.

This workshop will be held in person.
