Ketty Kabengele
Ketty Kabengele is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. She is a member of the Ogbunu Research Lab, and her research interests revolve around virus evolution. She uses experimental evolution and computational tools to explore how viruses evolve in different ecologies and how that influences disease.
Aside from research, Ketty is interested in teaching and has been a Teaching Fellow for different courses. She is interested in equitable, active teaching strategies that help students learn more effectively and think critically in STEM courses. In addition to being a fellow, Ketty also serves as a summer instructor for the Yale African Scholars Program. She is also a Lead Graduate Academic Mentor for the Yale Academic Strategies Program and coordinates the Academic Strategies Mentorship Program for incoming Yale College international students.
