Lauren Saunders
Lauren is a sixth year Ph.D. candidate in Physics, with a focus on experimental cosmology. Her research centers on developing software technology and analysis tools for telescopes observing the Cosmic Microwave Background. She earned a B.A. in Physics with a Specialization in Astrophysics from the University of Chicago. At Yale, Lauren has served as a teaching fellow for undergraduate lab and lecture courses, as well as developed the curriculum and taught for the Physics Boot Camp for incoming graduate students. She is also passionate about STEM outreach, serving as the graduate coordinator for Yale’s Girls’ Science Investigations. As a McDougal Teaching Fellow, she is interested in conversations around accessibility and equitable teaching practices, as well as engaging active learning pedagogies in STEM classrooms.
