Less Spreadsheet, More Service: How GLASS is Streamlining Non-Degree Programs at Yale

Sara Epperson and Kristi Oki shared the GLASS (Global Learner Access Support System) innovations that are transforming how non-degree online learners connect with Yale. By supporting key workflows from intake through enrollment, communications, LMS access, digital credentials, and reporting across multiple schools and units, GLASS is creating a seamless experience for learners across the globe. In the year since its launch, GLASS has been adopted by 15 programs in five professional schools, supporting more than 1,300 global learners.
Canvas, Clarity, & Community: Navigating the AI Frontier Through Strategic Pilots and Partnerships

In her presentation, Pilar Abuin revealed the many ways the Poorvu Center is helping faculty navigate the complexities of generative AI for teaching and learning. Together with partners from Boodlebox and Instructure, they described the collaborative framework developed with ITS to integrate AI capabilities into Canvas, along with an internal methodology for enabling features, vetting integrations, and supporting innovation through AI Grant programs funded by the Provost’s Office. The session emphasized how a cross-functional approach can advance innovation while balancing our community’s needs and maintaining a secure, supportive ecosystem.
From Policy to Practice: 2026 Digital Accessibility Updates and Open Discussion

Alongside colleagues from Yale’s Digital Accessibility Services, Amanda Valdespino underscored the importance of digital accessibility in higher education and shared updates to Yale’s digital accessibility program. The team also previewed a redesigned Usability & Digital Accessibility website, now customizable so users can quickly find information most relevant to their roles.
The OneIT conference is an annual one-day event that highlights collaborative initiatives across Yale’s IT community advancing the university’s mission. It also offers opportunities to connect with colleagues and leaders, learn about current projects, and build new skills. The theme for the 2026 conference was: Empowering People. Navigating Change.
