First-generation and non-traditional students bring unique assets, needs, and expectations to our classrooms. In this workshop we will discuss this growing and diverse population of students in order to gain a better understanding of how to meet the needs of a diverse student body as well as what the benefits are of having diverse perspectives and experiences represented in our classrooms. This workshop will feature a panel of students, instructors, and administrators who will share their experiences and help you think through these issues in your own teaching. Please contact the organizers with any questions (alexandra.krawetz@yale.edu [1] and mac.crite@yale.edu [2]).
