Speakology AI is a language learning platform that uses AI-powered avatars to give students immersive, one-on-one conversational practice in their target language. It integrates with your Canvas course site to support speaking proficiency development. Speakology AI is designed to bridge the gap between classroom instruction and real-world conversational fluency by simulating authentic interactions with a native-speaker avatar—entirely in the target language.

What will my students see?

  1. Once students are enrolled, they will gain access to the course Speakology page through the Canvas Navigation Menu in your Canvas course site.
  2. On Speakology AI, students will be able to see the course broken out into units.

  1. Speaking assignments are conducted through a call with an AI avatar. Prior to starting a call/speaking assignment, students may chose what avatar they would like to speak with, and if they would like video footage with their avatar.

  1. When the call begins, students can be in an audio-only and video-call assignment based on the options selected by the instructor for that activity.
