Office hours can be much more than a place for students to ask last-minute homework questions. When framed intentionally, they can support deeper learning, foster stronger connections, and promote equity by reaching a broader range of students. In this workshop, we will explore strategies for making office hours welcoming and effective learning spaces. We’ll discuss how to clearly communicate their value, how to guide students in deepening their understanding of course material, and how to adapt your approach to meet diverse student needs. Participants will leave with practical tools and a set of best practices for running engaging and equitable office hours.
