Fundamentals of Equitable Teaching (4 Sessions - In-Person)

Event Description

Do you want to facilitate the success of students with wide-ranging experiences, identities, and learning preferences? Are you interested in learning about how the hidden curriculum and structural inequity impacts student engagement both in and outside of the classroom? In this four-week workshop, we will work together to recognize and address possible sources of inequity in courses across the disciplines, building a communal definition of equitable teaching and identifying strategies for implementing it. We will think holistically about what equitable teaching means at different parts of the course-design process, including syllabus design, classroom participation, assessment, and grading. All disciplines welcome! Participation in at least 3 of these sessions is required for the Certificate of College Teaching Preparation (CCTP). For more information, please contact Audrey Holt (audrey.holt@yale.edu) and Ziming Liu (ziming.liu@yale.edu)… . . This four part event will take place: Tues 10/24, 10/31, 11/7, 11/14 — Event Details: https://yaleconnect.yale.edu/rsvp?id=2146435
