Event Description
Do you want to support and facilitate the success of students with wide-ranging experiences, identities, and learning styles? Are you interested in learning about the ‘hidden curriculum’ and how structural inequity in university settings impacts student engagement both in and outside of the classroom? In this four-week workshop, we will work together to recognize and address possible sources of inequity in courses across disciplines, building a communal definition of ‘equitable teaching’ and identifying strategies for implementing it. We will think holistically about what equitable teaching means at different parts of the course-design process, including syllabus design, classroom participation, assessment, and grading. All disciplines welcome! … . Participation in at least three of these sessions is required for the Certificate of College Teaching Preparation (CCTP). Feel free to contact us—Leah Harmon (leah.harmon@yale.edu) and Ziming Liu (ziming.liu@yale.edu)—with any questions or requests. Please note: this workshop will take place in-person, but an online version of the workshop will be available in October. — Event Details: https://yaleconnect.yale.edu/rsvp?id=2273280
