In this course we will survey current anti-racist pedagogical approaches, terms, and theories. Where did they come from? How are they being implemented across the world? Participants will learn the foundations of what it means to set up a learning environment with anti-racist pedagogy in mind. This ITW is designed to prepare participants for a deeper introspection in the ATW: Practicing Anti-racist pedagogy on Tuesday, October 18th. For more information, please contact delfina.gonzalez@yale.edu or michelle.johnson@yale.edu.
Intermediate Teaching Workshops do not presuppose any previous engagement with the topic, but will draw on topics mentioned in the Fundamentals of Teaching/CIRTL MOOC.
This workshop will be held in person.
