ITW: Participation and Equity

Event Description

Are you having trouble getting all of your students to participate? Do you ever wonder how to define or even grade participation, while still creating an equitable classroom environment? In this workshop, we’ll explore research-backed strategies to engage diverse learners in ways that allow each student to show their best work. By examining the barriers to classroom participation, we’ll work together to devise activities and assessments that are aligned with the course objectives and that facilitate multiple means of action and expression. For more information, please contact Katherine Ponds (katherine.ponds@yale.edu) and Taylor Dover (taylor.dover@yale.edu).… . This workshop will be held in person… . . Please note: Intermediate Teaching Workshops (ITWs) count toward the requirements for the CCTP. They do not presuppose any previous engagement with the topic, but will draw on topics mentioned in the Fundamentals of Teaching/the CIRTL MOOC. For a refresher on key pedagogical terms you may have encountered in the Fundamentals or the CIRTL MOOC, please refer to our glossary: tinyurl.com/PedagogicalGlossary. — Event Details: https://yaleconnect.yale.edu/rsvp?id=2261781
