Literature Synthesis in The Humanities and Social Sciences

Event Description

A literature synthesis is where you articulate new ideas or principles based on your analysis of multiple sources. Synthesizing your literature is a critical skill whether writing memos, briefs, or other academic papers. However, synthesis can be challenging as you work to find connections between various sources and to articulate general principles from a number of authorities. Join us for this interactive workshop where you will learn how to synthesize your wealth of sources and avoid unconnected analyses. You will leave this workshop understanding how to enhance the quality of your written work by connecting the dots - synthesizing the sources you discuss.

Intended Audience: Graduate, Professional School, and Postdoctoral Scholars in the Humanities and Social Sciences
