Deadlines are looming and it’s time to get your final drafts in shape! Strong academic writing requires clear, simple expression. Yet, achieving that can be a challenge, especially when you are writing about complex principles and issues. Join us for this interactive workshop where you will learn techniques to hone critical skills in writing clear, concise sentences and paragraphs. Among other things, we’ll work on eliminating unnecessary words and phrases, limiting jargon in prose, and using transitions to aid clarity. We’ll begin the workshop using The WritersDiet Test, an online writing feedback tool. So, bring your laptop with a one-page writing sample to run through the program and troubleshoot your writing. You will leave this workshop understanding how to achieve clarity in your graduate academic writing and ready to tackle your final papers!
