Event Description

The diversity statement is an opportunity to explore how your research and teaching build a stronger community by engaging audiences, facts, and points of view that are underrepresented in your field. We will consider: What is a diversity statement? What differentiates it from a personal statement and teaching statement? What might a search committee consider while evaluating an application? The workshop leaders will offer clear definitions, lead reflective activities, and provide examples from successful applications to give you concrete steps toward writing an honest and effective statement.

Intended audience: Scholars in all disciplines planning or drafting a diversity statement
