The Yale Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning will host the 2020 Summer Institute on Course (Re)Design from May 26 - May 28. Yale University faculty are invited to join Poorvu Center experts and facilitators for an invigorating and productive workshop dedicated to harnessing principles of human development, assessment, and inclusion to facilitate effective student learning.

More than 140 faculty members have completed the Summer Institute on Course (Re)Design at Yale. Participants explore a range of topics during structured workshop sessions and receive one-on-one or small-group support during planning hours.

Participants will examine questions like:

  1. Do my course goals and objectives clearly articulate expectations for student learning?
  2. Do the major elements of my course (readings, assignments, e.g.) align with my course goals and objectives?
  3. Is there a new idea about formative or summative student assessment I want to incorporate in my course?
  4. Can I identify the progression of my students’ learning by reviewing my course assessments?

If you have any questions, please email Victoria Hallinan.
