This name better reflects our Center’s mission to promote equitable and engaged teaching, empower students in their learning, and make education more collaborative and public.  The new name also recognizes that we manage multiple production studios across three locations – 135 College Street, the Poorvu Center, and Poorvu North. 

While our name has changed, our focus has not.  The Poorvu Center’s Teaching Studios team will continue collaborating with faculty and instructors to create high-quality media for learners at Yale and beyond, while remaining the production leader for the University’s signature events.  Commencement, the Presidential Inauguration, and Yale College Opening Assembly are only a few events that will continue to rely on the production expertise of our team. We will also continue to serve as a resource for schools and units across Yale that may be exploring their own media capabilities!
