Ryan is the Assistant Director for Educational Technology in the Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning. As a member of the Ed Tech team, Ryan supports Yale’s Learning Management System (LMS), Canvas, as well as the other educational technology tools integrated and available for faculty use in their teaching. In this role, Ryan offers faculty and staff support on overcoming pedagogical and technological challenges to better support student learning and success. His guiding philosophy in this work is to lead with your teaching and let the right tech tool be a byproduct of those decisions.

Before coming to Yale, Ryan worked at Adelphi University’s Faculty Center for Professional Excellence as an Instructional Designer, where he also completed his Master of Arts in Educational Technology. In the decade he spent working for this department in various roles and responsibilities, he developed his passion for educational technology support, instructional design, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), accessibility, and faculty development. Ryan also teaches part-time in Adelphi’s Educational Technology program, where he gets to talk and teach more deeply about the complex intersection of technology, education, and society with his students.
