Mallory Ellingson
Mallory Ellingson is a doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases at the Yale School of Public Health. Her research interests include vaccines and vaccine-preventable diseases, with a specific focus on improving vaccine communication and understanding vaccine acceptance and refusal.
Prior to starting at Yale, Mallory received her Bachelors from Duke University in History of Medicine and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University before working as a Public Health Program Associate in the Department of Global Health at RSPH. She believes in taking an interdisciplinary approach to all things, which is reflected in her training, teaching and research. She is a recipient of a Teaching Innovation Project Grant to develop a Mixed Methods for Public Health course for YSPH.
As a McDougal Graduate Teaching Fellow, she hopes to learn and share how to address some of the unique challenges and opportunities that come along with teaching in graduate and professional schools where your students are also your peers and enter the classroom with vastly different educational and experiential backgrounds.
