Clare Ankawi
Clare has been supporting and managing a variety of instructional technology tools for over ten years. This passion in technology began at a young age by getting involved in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). Later, she began volunteering as a mentor to high school students in FRC, which grew her interests in the impact of technology use in the educational arena.
Since then, Clare has gone on to earn a Master of Education in Computer Education Technology. During her education, she was recognized for her passion and pursuit of growing technology in the classroom with the Jane and Seldon Strother Instructional Technology Award. She continues to work towards advancing technologies in educational environments.
Before coming to Yale, Clare served as the Learning Technologies Analyst at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. In this role, she supported the college as well as faculty, staff, and students in the implementation and management of its instructional technologies.
Clare Ankawi is now an Assistant Director of Educational Technology at the Yale Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning. She joined the team in April 2019 to support the Canvas LMS and the additional external applications that integrate into the LMS at multiple levels of the university. In this role, Clare provides both technological and pedagogical support to faculty and staff, offering insight and understanding to the Yale community on enhancing student experience in the classroom through technology.
