Academic Continuity: Translating Zoom Best Practices to the Physical Classroom

Event Description

The past year of remote learning, though challenging, provided Yale instructors the opportunity to learn to teach classes in new ways, often via Zoom. Many instructors took advantage of this time to experiment with new teaching approaches, such as adding opportunities for student engagement via polling or chat, facilitating small group work via breakout rooms, and bringing in guest speakers and lecturers from all over the world. How can we translate these practices to the physical classroom, and what new approaches might we be inspired to try? Join us for an interactive workshop in which we will explore pedagogical approaches and technological tools for engaging students (including the versatility of Poll Everywhere) as we transition back to the in-person classroom.
