Individual Events: Workshops and Discussions
We have several event series that faculty may join as single events throughout the semester, including:
Educational Technology Workshops
Educational Technology Workshops provide an opportunity for instructors to think about intentional uses of educational technology, particularly in support of accessible and inclusive teaching. The Educational Technology team supports and owns Canvas @ Yale as the primay Learning Management System (LMS), as well as multiple external applications to support teaching.
Faculty in Conversation: Antiracist Pedagogy
The Faculty in Conversation: Antiracist Pedagogy series brings together faculty to listen, reflect, and exchange ideas. Each session features faculty members who incorporate antiracist practices into their teaching and who are featured on the Poorvu Center antiracist pedagogy webpage.
Teaching and Learning Discussions
Teaching and Learning Discussions are informal, interactive conversations about interdisciplinary teaching topics. Featured faculty initiate the discussion by sharing their own practices, and participants contribute with their own questions, challenges, and variations on these practices.
Teaching Flexibly and Accessibly Workshops
Teaching Flexibly and Accessibly workshops are offered at the beginning of each semester to support small changes that can make course structures more equitable and effective for all students. Featuring faculty from across the university who focus on the accessibility of their teaching and course materials and have experience in implementing flexible course policies, these workshops present instructors with an opportunity to learn from one another and to consider adjusting their teaching practices to meet students’ needs.
Technology-Enhanced Academics Talks
Technology-Enhanced Academics Talks (or TEA Talks) are interactive workshops featuring educational technologies that can effectively support pedagogical goals. Each workshop is focused on a pedagogical issue and a high-level overview of select technologies related to that issue.
