Event Description

This workshop will cover the typical components of the teaching portfolio, the evidence of teaching excellence that is often required for academic jobs in the U.S. We will discuss both the “paper” form of the teaching portfolio (documents gathered in a master pdf) and the electronic teaching portfolio (a website that documents teaching experience). We will talk about how to gather the components of the portfolio—teaching statement, sample syllabi, course evaluations—and how to annotate pieces of your portfolio so that the reader gets an overall sense of who you are as a teacher. This workshop will be cross-disciplinary. For more information, contact gina.hurley@yale.edu. .

Please note: This Advanced Teaching Workshop is part of our Academic Job Search series, and is especially appropriate for participants preparing for the academic job market, but this is not required.

Due to demand, this workshop will be held on Zoom.
