Fundamentals of Contemporary Controversies in Pedagogy

Event Description

Join us for a discussion-based workshop series where we will explore current controversies in higher education pedagogy by engaging with readings from primary and secondary sources. Each session will focus on a different topic, including lecturing vs. active learning; technology vs. traditional teaching; and inclusivity, diversity, and bias. In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to reflect on your teaching and prepare informed answers to job and inclusivity market questions. Post-docs and graduate students with teaching experience and some familiarity with pedagogical techniques (ex. Fundamentals or other CTL coursework) are highly encouraged to attend. Attendees should be prepared to do about 20-30 minutes of reading per class. For more information, contact julianne.gerdes@yale.edu or Young.yi@yale.edu. This is the fourth part of a four-part workshop series running on 9/17, 9/24, 10/1 & 10/8.
