Graduate & Professional Students, Postdoctoral Fellows

Event Time

Wednesday, February 22, 2023 - 1:00pm to 2:30pm

Location of Event:

Poorvu Center, 301 York Street, Room 120B

Event Description

In this workshop we will survey current anti-racist pedagogical approaches, terms, and theories. Where did they come from? How are they being implemented in classrooms? Participants will learn the foundations of what it means to teach through the lens of anti-racism. This ITW is designed to prepare participants for a deeper introspection in the ATW: Practicing Anti-racist Pedagogy on Wednesday, April 12th. For more information, please contact joy.wang@yale.edu or michelle.johnson@yale.edu.

Please note: Intermediate Teaching Workshops (ITWs) count toward the requirements for the Certificate of College Teaching Preparation (CCTP). They do not presuppose any previous engagement with the topic, but will draw on topics mentioned in the Fundamentals of Teaching/the CIRTL MOOC. For a refresher on key pedagogical terms you may have encountered in the Fundamentals or the CIRTL MOOC, please refer to our glossary: tinyurl.com/PedagogicalGlossary.
