Heidi Wilson
Heidi Wilson is the Assistant Director for Engagement Technology in the Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning. In this role, Heidi supports Yale Connect, the University’s online community platform for students, faculty, and staff. Using Yale Connect, members of the University can join and engage with university groups, search and register for online and in-person events, join in community conversations, and more. With a customer-centric approach to product design and support, Heidi’s mission is to make Yale Connect a seamless user experience and ensure that all members of the University feel encouraged and empowered to participate in the diverse offerings of campus life.
Prior to joining Yale, Heidi has held several technology- and education-focused positions in both the non-profit and private spaces. Heidi was most recently a Digital Product Manager with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) where she managed the configuration and administration of Software as a Service (SaaS) products, including those in support of community engagement, online mentoring, interactive web design, and workplace management. Heidi’s earlier experiences managing research for K-12 partners at Hanover Research in addition to her educational background in sociology also inform her approach to product support. With a strong foundation in social science research (and as a self-professed “data geek”), Heidi prioritizes the synthesis of research, analytics, stakeholder feedback, and trends into actionable plans that can inform product configuration to meet the needs of all end users.
