Katherine Ponds is a doctoral candidate in African American Studies and American Studies here at Yale. Her research focuses on the interplay between Black performance and Greek tragedy. Katherine has had years of experience teaching at the middle, high school, and undergraduate level. Before she began graduate school she was a full-time 8th grade Latin teacher in Washington, DC. Katherine is interested in pedagogy insofar as it can help us cultivate community, disrupt systems of power, and unsettle society’s assumptive logics.
