Meghan Bathgate
Meghan Bathgate, Ph.D. is the Director of Educational Program Assessment at the Poorvu Center. As a Cognitive Psychologist, she pairs her knowledge of motivation and learning theories with applied assessment approaches to support faculty’s implementation of educational programs throughout Yale University. Meghan’s evaluation and assessment experience in educational settings purposefully embraces an interdisciplinary, evidence-driven approach. This experience includes working with program developers, faculty, and undergraduates through the evaluation of multi-sited programs at the regional and national level. Across all of this work, improving students’ educational experiences through data-driven assessment has been at the center.
She received her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, where she worked at the Learning Research & Development Center studying classroom factors that promote students’ engagement and persistence in the sciences. She is passionate to contribute to the local and national efforts in making education actively engaging and inclusive for all students.
