You must log in to view this page.Stephanie, who joins the Poorvu Center in a one year position as Assistant Director of Teaching Development and Initiatives, is in the final stages of a PhD in English Literature in Yale’s English department, working on a project concerned with the philosophy of science in the 17th century. This interdisciplinary energy is part and parcel of her intellectual and academic trajectory. Stephanie holds an undergraduate degree in English, Celtic Studies, and Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley, where she worked in a research lab for several years. Her co-authored scientific work has appeared in Perspectives in Plant Ecology, Evolution, and Systematics and Paleogeography, Paleoclimatology, Paleoecology.
Stephanie is an experienced teacher, having taught writing seminars in the English Department for several years. Her topics for these courses connect to her academic expertise, focusing on the history of censorship and the nature of truth in scientific literature. She has also convened several working groups and important disciplinary conferences, like The English Institute.
