Faculty Learning communities

Semester-long opportunities for faculty to  reflect on their teaching with other faculty in their discipline.

Semester-Long Learning Communities

The Poorvu Center offers semester-long faculty learning communities to support community and reflection around teaching practices through the sharing of strategies and resources. The learning communities convene every 2-3 weeks throughout the semester and are tailored to the needs of the group. We meet in person for the first and last meeting (with hybrid options if needed) and meet on Zoom for the other meetings. For those participating in the Faculty Teaching Academy for new faculty, attending 5 out of 6 sessions fulfills the learning community component.

Spring 2025 Learning Communities

For Spring 2025, we are just running the STEM Learning Community.  We will be meeting on Mondays from 2:30-3:30pm (2/3, 2/17, 3/3, 3/31, 4/14, and 4/28). We will meet in person (with the option for Zoom) for the first and last meetings, and the remaining meetings will be on Zoom. Please email faculty.teaching@yale.edu if you would like to join.

For the spring semester, the Humanities/Social Science Learning Community is on hold. Please email faculty.teaching@yal.edu if you would like to participate in a Fall 2025 learning community.
