As our largest audience, students engage with us in many ways. They attend workshops and tutoring, serve on our advisory board, collaborate on projects, work as tutors and fellows in the Center, and use our space to study. Students inspire us and drive us towards continued innovation to best meet their needs.
Student Supports
A partnership between Yale College and the Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning offers specialized programs to support our students:

Disability & Neurodiversity Support

Learn Anywhere, Anytime
The Poorvu Center manages a robust Yale Online course catalog, showcasing a range of subjects from across Yale University. This centralized hub offers access to everything from non-credit enrichment courses to for-credit degree programs, ensuring smooth navigation and accessibility on platforms like Coursera, YouTube, and Canvas.

Learning with Canvas
Canvas is the digital extension of your course where learning happens beyond the walls of the classroom. Canvas can be used by your instructors to provide resources, foster discussion, collect assignments, organize group / peer work, and provide feedback on your learning.

“Poorvu, for me, was transformative in a lot of ways. I came [to Yale] feeling a bit isolated as the only woman in my cohort and didn’t have a sense of community. Working at Poorvu, in addition to learning, really brought me my first welcoming community.”
