Yale Center for Teaching and Learning

Request to Host your Meeting or Event in the Poorvu Center

Thank you for your interest in using the space at the Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning. All requests to use the Poorvu Center for meetings and other non-course related activities are based on availability of the rooms and other activities planned at the Poorvu Center that week. We will consider all requests for the use of the Poorvu Center, however, meetings that include elements of teaching and learning will receive strong priority.

To learn more about the spaces we have available for use, please click here. Please note that our smaller rooms (Rooms 116A – D) are for Poorvu Center staff and fellows use only.

If you are interested in using our space for teaching a course, please use this form instead. If you are interested in using the TEAL Classroom at 17 Hillhouse, please make your request through 25Live.

Please note that you are expected to bring your own technological equipment when utilizing the Poorvu Center rooms (e.g. Mac laptop adaptors, presentation advancers/clickers, power adapters).

Please provide at least two full business weeks for review of your request

The CTL staff can provide names of caterers that have served our space in the past, but you are responsible for making all food arrangements including ordering, set-up and disposal. Also, red wine and open flames (i.e. Sterno cans) are prohibited in any part of Sterling Memorial Library including the CTL.

The CTL's "touchdown areas" are informal and open spaces for smaller groups of people or individuals to work and collaborate. These areas are comprised of modular furniture so that the work environment may be easily customized for different uses. The CTL's "touchdown areas" have a number of sofas, tables, chairs, and bistro height tables and stools.

Please provide the name and mobile number of an Emergency Contact who will be present at the time of the of the meeting.
