Amanda Valdespino (she/her) is an Educational Developer and Accessibility Specialist within the Teaching Development and Initiatives team and the Digital Accessibility team (ITS). In her role, Amanda supports faculty and staff in integrating and advancing accessible practices. Amanda is particularly interested in learner-centered approaches to best support all students, especially those with disabilities. As a Latine, first-generation college graduate, she consistently reflects on how her social identities intersect with her role. She has been at Yale since October 2023. In her time so far, she has worked on various exciting projects, including facilitating a Disability Pedagogy and Accessibility seminar for faculty and developing an Accessibility at Yale video series with the support of the Center’s Broadcast team.
Amanda holds an M.S. in Education with a focus on Instructional Systems and Learning Technologies and a B.A. in English and Communications, both from Florida State University. Before joining Yale, she worked in education development at the University of Miami for 4.5 years.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her dog, Edie, traveling to new destinations, and finding unique earrings. Her favorite spot on campus is the Selin Courtyard within the Sterling Memorial Library.
