Anh Minh Tran

he/him
Lead Writing Partner, Undergraduate Writing and Tutoring
B.A. Philosophy and History

Anh Minh Tran is a junior from Hanoi, Vietnam. His favorite part about being a Writing Partner is learning from students who come in for help. He even incorporates techniques and stylistic elements he picks up during sessions in his own writing because he finds that it makes his writing much better and more persuasive.

Outside of the Writing Center, Anh Minh is the vice president of Splash at Yale—an educational organization for New Haven middle and high school students—and an Advising Fellow for Matriculate. He is also an avid soccer fan (like everyone in Vietnam) and a video gamer (he’s racked up 2,900 hours in Counter-Strike over the last six years, or an average of 1.3 hours/day, though that number has been decreasing steadily at Yale…). In the off chance you also enjoy philosophy or history, he would love for you to talk to him about anything, especially if you also like Thomas Hobbes. He really enjoys reading Hobbes’s corpus, and his dream is to become a philosophy professor and write (at least) one paper on Hobbes.
